Decaffeinated coffee beans using the ethanol acetate method is a natural process which occurs close to the farm where the beans are grown. Not only is this process free from harmful chemicals used in traditional decaf methods but also reduces food miles by completing the processing at point of origin.
The beans are washed in a solution of ethanol acetate and water , which is a natural by product of banana leaf processing. this is repeated until at least 97% of caffeine is removed prior to the beans being exposed to steam to remove any traces. The resulting caffeinated water is sold to such markets as the energy drink industry.
We only work with suppliers that meat our strict morals and eco-friendly sustainability practises so you can rest assured that all process are monitored to ensure the health and wellbeing of the farmers to the supplier along with ensuring the crop is always at its best whilst minimising our carbon footprint with every sale.
